oil pressure problem. (help)

I have a 1984 rx7 SE that i have been doing some mods to but i recently noticed that my oil pressure gauge was not working at all and was reading 0 oil pressure and i cant figure out were the oil pressure sensor switch is at. ive removed the air pump, mechanical fan, and a/c compressor. i was thinking that the gauge might not be working because of the warning lable that the air pump has that if removed u would get no oiling. the car runs fine idles perfect the only problem that anoys me is the oil pressure gauge. i want to get that fixed bcause if i do have a problem with my oil pressure im not going 2 be able to see it an might cause a lot of damage to my engine.
i will apreciate any help thanks.

Hey man just get a new one from autoparts store. Or check that its connected on teh engine, the sensor is just below the oil pedistal with a yellow wired slideing coupler. Other than that I suggest installing a gauge pod with water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure,

little new to rx7's so I dont know for sure about the air pump thing (although I'm going for no because I have idea what the air pump would have to do with oil pressure), but I think that the oil pressure sender is on the drivers side of the engine near the back, round thing with one wire coming off of it. I'm pretty sure but someone will chime in here to set us straight

Oil pressure sender is the mushroom shaped thing under the oil filter, single wire connector. The other sender and wire towards the front of it is for the temp gauge.

Ignore the air pump, all the warning label on it means is you don't oil the pump.

Welcome to the forum.
May I suggest next time that you buy a manual so you don't do all of that unneeded work that you just did.

Attached picture shows the location of the oil pressure sender. Make sure you clean the connector and the connecting point at the sensor before reinstalling the wire.

If you go to install the aftermarket gauge you will find that you need an adapter to go from the 1/8 BSPT to 1/8 npt, that adapter kit can be ordered thru a Napa Auto. # is 701-1550.
