Oil pressure problem
Here's the deal, last night I was driving along at about 60km/hr and I noticed my oil pressure gauge was running at the max. I emmidately pulled over and shut down the car, inspected the oil cooler, lines, etc and couldn't see anything abnormal.
Today I drove the car to work and again the pressure guage was running high, at one point it dropped down to the half way mark when I was aty a stop lite and then when back up the thusual 3/4, but a few minutes later it whent back to the max. Right now when stopped it runs just a bit above 3/4 and when driving it is maxed out.
In the past my guage has run at about half when stopped and at about 3/4 when driving.
I'm thinking that there is something wrong with the gauge or the oil pressure sending unit. Even when the engine is turned off the guage shows some pressure, how can that be. Or could my oil filter be clogged, I just changed it.
Help please!!!!! I don't want to hurt my mint low km 12A

if the engine is off and the gauge shows oil pressure, theres definately a prob. i bet the stock sending unit is going ape. get another from a junkyard and try it out.
seeing that the stock rear oil pressure regulator is set to bypass around 65psi, it sounds real unlikely you'll peg the gauge. unless you bought the 115psi RACE oil pressure rear regulator and shimmed up the front regulator!
