oil pressure gauge

Hey guys, oil pressure gauge in my 85 kinda works. When I start the the car, the gauge moves a little, but never moves passed the 0 on the gauge. I took the senser out of the motor and cleaned it with carb cleaner thinking it might be just stuck with gunk. No change. Any thoughts. Thanks for the help.

Try using another gauge if you have one laying around you can hook up cause mine has been out since I had the car but yours is probably just burnt out on the cluster I would just wire up a new one a vac line probably be easier.

Just my $.2

Thanks. Can I just wire it up to the sensor in the motor (just use the original sensor to an autometer gauge). I'm an amateur mechanic. You said something about vacuum line, what would I hook a vacuum line to? Sorry for the ignorance.

It's a line from the back of the gauge it puts pressure and abit of oil through to measure the pressure from the oil. And I didn't. Take mine apart the first time I had to correct the mistakes on mine but from what I've looked at I didn't have to mess with the sensor. Just rewire it all with the correct wiring.
