Oil Pressure

Its been a weird day for my RX-7.

This morning I went to start it and it started to crank over then everything went dead. Check battery cable seemed ok. Put it on the charger for half hour and it fired up. Looking at the battery it looks old so put in a new one.

Before I thought the oil pressure was always a bit above 60 up to 70 or so. Now at idle it drops to about 50 and then moves past the 60 mark but seems to move between 60-70 or so with RPM's. Checked oil yesterday morning and it was good. Was changed about 1200 miles ago. What is normal for oil pressure? Should it move or be steady? Before today I thought it was more steady.

Has me concerned.

Found some threads on the oil pressure and that looks ok after reading others. Still wondering why it seems to be more in one place before. Going to look at swaping to mach oil pressure gague. Also going to check ground wire and replace battery cable terminals. They don't look the greatest. I did clean them up with wirebrush/water/baking soda.

Good News. My Racing Beat Exhaust arrived today!!!

how many times is this gonna come up? Per Haynes, 13-38 psi at idle, 64-78 psi at 3000 rpm of engine.

Mods, please add to the FAQ!

Also add that the stock gauges are VERY innacurate.

Thanks all. First time I search I came up with too many treads and was going over them. Did a little better search and came up with better results. Thanks all for the responses.

Still think I have a bad ground somewhere as the radio cracks when I turn it on and sometimes over bumps. But thats another issue. When its in the shop for the RB Exhuast and rats nest removal going to give it a good look over with some professional help.
