Oil metering and vacuum advance
After installing a Weber, I had to drill a hold in my new manifold for the brake booster. I was just wondering how necessary it is to connect the oil metering line and vacuum advance lines. Seems to run fine without them, but I thought I'd ask anyway.

Unless you premix connecting the oil metering line is pretty dam important. It helps lubricate the inside of your engine!
You can set your timing to not use the vacume advance. There is a tutorial around here someware about it.

OK, removed the oil metering lines and disabled the pump to them. I've been premixing at about 1 ounce of oil to every gallon of gas. I'll look up the timing stuff, thanks for the tip on that. I did advance the timing a bit already, which has helped, but I'm sure I could do a better job.
Think I should probably look into new jets, I just can't afford too much stuff right now.

Premix is "the true path of light".. It is much better for your engine. The OMP basically dumps the oil in and it runs down your intake into the port. Premix is a full, even distrabution of lubracation. Where there is gas there is the oil. Your apex seals thank you...
Also, you get to enjoy the look of peoples faces at the gas station when they see you putting oil in your gas tank...

Hmmm, that sounds weird to me. Increased throttle would = increased fuel/oil mixture. That would mean that using a premix would also mean increased oil at increased throttle. Right?
