Oil Metering Lines

I bought a new oil pump, so I shouldn't have to worry about that dying out, but what about the lines? They're about $15 each and I was wondering if I could get a second opinion as to how long my original ones will last. Thanks.

Ok, thanks. How did you find the condition of the oil metering pump to be?

Ok, that's good. How do you find the oil cooler on the 81 to work? Did you use the 81 driveshaft?

The cooler works great but the braided lines leak like a s.o.b. but not from just one place it seems to seep from the entire hose itself

The engine was the only thing swapped the tranny and ds are orig 84 equip

runs a lot better w/ all the simple mods Ive done to it

The plastic oil metering lines get brittle and dry out *long* before the pump will go bad. They will last a long time as long as you don't "tinker" with them. IMO, it's a good idea to replace the oil lines as preventative maintenance. With all the component movement and "tinkering" that goes along with replacing an engine this is the perfect opportunity for these already weak lines to break. Replace 'em!
