oil leak!

My 12a has an oil leak somewheres. I can' tell where from. Oil seems to be dripping out, so it's somewhat serious.
All I know for sure is that it's a pressurized leak, and there's a lot of accumulation on the driver's side lower part of the engine. The coolant line has a little bit of accumulation, but not much. The most of it accumulates just below this part.
I suspect the oil pan gasket, or front cover gasket, but can't tell for sure.
Anyone have experience with oil leaks in that area?

if you still have the stock oil cooler, then it is most likley that. mine is leaking all over the damn place. i'm just waiting till i get the old school one from wackyracer. WOOHOOOO! if you look and it is your oil cooler, take the effort to put in a better one from an older or newer rx7.

Put a half cup of brake fluid into your oil, and that should expand any leaky seals and also help your APEX seals. If that doesnt work then check everything else!

Maybe the Orings under the oil filter/cooler tower. I bought 4 from mazdatrix for $13 and just need a little time to install them on my 83.

synthetic oil is supossed to expand dry seals as well, but in time the seals will start to break apart and the problem will get even worse than before.

I have an 84 GSL that leaks a bit of oil from the seals between the rotor chambers - the previous owner tried to seal it up with epoxy that you can see just in front of the 12A label on the block. When I got the car in the winter of 2002, I immediately did an oil change using 10-30 oil and the leak got much worse. So then I put in 20-50 and it stopped leaking so bad. Now each time I do an oil change I put in some "engine oil leak repair" treatment for "brown leaks" (yeh, the stuff that never works) and now, 25,000 miles and more than a year later, the engine still leaks a little, but hardly at all and nothing like the dripping I started with. I expect another 25,000 miles over the next year or two before having to rebuild this original engine, which will have more than 150,00 on it at that time.
