i had to heat a flywheel once to get it off, just got an gas tourch (no, not propane) and heated around the e-shaft in circles, i didtn heat it much, but after like 30 sec of using an oxy cutting tourch set real low one light tap and it came loose

hit between the friction surface and the ring gear, avoiding hitting either two

i also work my way around the flywheel, such as hitting at the 12oclock, 4 and 8 for example.

Don't forget to thread the bolt back on a few turns before taking your hammer and hitting the flywheel to get it off. You want it to pop off of its spot but not to slam down on the floor, so leave the nut on a few threads and the nut will catch it.

You want to take the mallet and hit the flywheel solidly near the edge but not on the ring gear.

I've got a video about flywheel removal I downloaded many moons ago that I can't find the original page for. I'm uploading it to YouTube and will post when it's up.
