Hiya, Buckaroo...

Fusible link is kaput....They're on the driver's side of the engine bay on the shock tower. Look like loops of cloth wire.

My fusable went out too for the lights, I took the cloth cover thingy off and just twisted the wires together, thats only if it's broken at the center, its the bottom fusable btw. (oh and I didnt notice anything else being affected, except when i went to manually raise them with the little twist thing under the hood they would kick back down if i tried to raise them)

If the fusible link is blown, wouldn't the lights stay up? It protects the motors, yet they get power to go down... Odd.

Sorry, Buckaroo...

No, once the link is gone you can twist the manual **** but the buckets will only kick back down again. No lights at all. What did I do? Went to the Junkyard and raided four yard-bound 1st gens pulling all the fusibles I could...

Yea, sounds like the fusible links. You can look for replacements or do what I did and get rid of them. I replaced them with a second gen fuse block. Most Mazda fuse blocks will work, like 626, 323's etc. I also upgraded to a second gen alternator. Much better. More amps, better to run the Alpine and the Piaa's.
