Nikki or Webber.
If terms of power and reliability which is better. I currently have a superstreet Nikki and it seems to pull quite well. It is reliable and requires very little maintenance. I was thinking of spending the extra money for a Webber but is it really worth it? How much extra power will I actually get compared to my modified Nikki. I estimate my car has about 180hp at the moment.

I have a weber but webers are picky I usually take it out and recheck everything in about 30minutes...I do this every month because somehow the weber is just...well a weber, I'm happy with it though...
if you have a modified nikki (180hp capable) and it's working for you I say keep it and spend the money on something more useful. This decision depends on your future upgrades also...
keep the nikki

I've been pondering this myself. In a perfect world I could just test drive several options on the same car (what about a Mikuni or Dellorto, eh?), and then view reams of dyno data and lap times, etc..
But instead what we have here on the Internet are the voices of experience.
Please, anybody who has some daily driving and performance driving experience with different carbs, post your knowledge!

For the stockport engine, weber 45dcoe, delerto, or Mikuni 44phh sidedrafts are the same pretty much. They are all excellent setups over stock. I personally like the fact that the mess under the hood is gone and replaced with a nice clean setup which has quick jet change ability. Also, they seem to produce a very steady idle and are VERY uncomplicated.
I think the holley kits offered by RB are also good, but have no real experience with them. They probably produce more lowend since they use 4barrels when used with vac 2ndaries.
But for me I like the extreme simplicity of the sidedrafts.

I dont have a stockport. I have as follows:
streetported 12a, 3mm carbon seals, modified stationary gears, race bearings, mazda racing oil pump, racing oil pressure regulator, ported intake, superstreet Nikki carb, RB Alluminum pulleys, carter fuel pump, holley pressure regulator, BR race header, custom dual 2" long primary collecting into a 3" Magnaflow.
My question is will a Webber side draft set up give me more power. My car has juice and pulls quite well its just a matter of wanting more and if the webber can flow more im all over it...

Banned. I got OWNED!!!
i really like the nikki carb for reliability but for max hp i would have to go with a weber !!! definatly alot more power potential with a weber! also once you adjust a weber you dont need to adjust it ....
