New se finally Home

Well about a month ago I bought an se from Maryland, Just picked her up this weekend, flew up, and drove down 15 hours to SW Florida.. I had a few questions. I have had 8 rx7's but this is my first se, I am very happy..
#1 My gas guage is on crack... fill her up and the guage reads full, 2 minutes later I look down and she's moving alot, by atleast a quarter then jumps up to full again,, My tanks not leaking, is something loose.
#2 My speedometer is not steady, it's got a twitch ,,, no clue whats up w/ that
On the way down my rear end was howling sounds like it could use some lubrication, any recommendations on what to use, and those the tranny get some as well?
I do have a leak some where next to the oil cooler, The guy I bought it from said he recently bought the 2 oil lines that go to the cooler and thinks the O rings might be pinched, those this sound right to you guys...
Besides that she is awesome, smooth ride down no problems besides the oil, and I have learned the hard way that oil is critical, so I made sure that the oil lever was maintained the whole ride here....
Well hope to here your thoughts. Thanks and I have included a pic for you to see,,, I payed 2000 bucks I think I got a great deal... PEACE

Nice SE. I would say it was worth the 2000 bucks. Your gas gauge problem is probably due to the corrosion on the sending unit on the gas tank. The speedo cable probably just needs some lube. The humming noise could either be a wheel bearing or a bearing in rear. If it hums louder in high gear and on light throttle, it's the rear. If its more steady and consistent, it is probably the wheel/axle shaft bearing. As far as the oil leak, your just gonna have to look real close to see where it is coming from. Hope this helps.

Greetings and you done great job on price!

Rearend may be low of fluid and might also be missing the additive, GSL-SE's 85's all have limit slip and they need the additive.

On a side note, check your brake lines. I bought mine from someone I know and while changing tires and rims out I noticed that the front ones were completely dryrotted to the point I was shocked they didn't explode when used.

Nice addition.............. The fuel sender needs replaced. Change ALL your fluids. Lube the speedo cable. As far as what you paid doesn't sound that bad, unless the car has more than 150k on the stock engine, or a lot of rot in all the little places underneth. The fact you drove it 15 hours without any major problems is a good sign. If your happy with what you paid, that's really all that matters.

60 psi is where she stays at, so that a good sighn, the bad news I just came from under the car and the oil cooler has a hair line crack, where the the upper hose enters the oil cooler, I am assuming since it's aluminum, it was over tighten,, The oil lines are spanky new,,,,, Is there another fix besides, replacing the the whole cooler............................
