NEW popping noise...

K guys, I know this isn't Exhaust leaks (I just fixed them all), but on decel, my '79 GS goes pop pop pop pop pop etc etc.... until it gets down to about 2000 rpm. It just started doing it tonight. I was thinking perhaps my ACV valve went (I don't have an airpump, rat's nest, or any emmissions crap). No cats. Straight pipe. They're not obnoxiously loud, but annoying to me, as I like super smooth running/sounding cars. From what it looks like on search, it's the ACV. Does this sound reasonable?

Yeah, the thermal reactor is gone. I have an '83 12A in it, with it's stock exhaust manifold.... forgot to mention that.

I love living somwhere with no emissions control...

I went to Brocklehurst school in the 70s when it was two Atco trailers in a desert full of tumbleweeds

If you running no cats, then why do you need an ACV? Get that thing outta there, and save it for when cruising down the highway and you encounter a nice tail gater

So if I take it out, it'll stop the popping... cool Maybe I'll do that in a bit... I've got some sheet 1/8th lying around here somewhere...

Ugh... I thought I checked all the vacuum lines... turns out I missed one, probably 'cause it's tucked up inside next to the air filter... anyways, I fixed it, started the car up, re-adjusted the idle/mixture and.... vrooommmm.... no backfire either... I just thought I'd post my stupidity and inattentiveness.
