So went to check the oil and this was loose

Any one have another black housing they can send me?

What is that for? It's been off the whole time I have had it once plugged back in engine sounds perfect.

If I cut-and-paste this link into another IE windows it works.

That part is a vacuum solenoid for the emissions. You can try to super glue it back or find them in the forsale section. Those are easy to break because they get brittle from the heat. If the lines are hard, silicon line works good.

So the black part is called the vacuum solenoid? thank you. can i get that at autozone or do you need to get it used?

Yes, bad gas mileage as well as non-optimal engine performance. That's your vacuum leak that was predicted early on.

Keep looking, there may be more vacuum leaks.

You might want to spray everything down with some kind of aerosol and listen for changes in engine pitch, that would indicate the location of a leak.

The solenoids are easily available, probably a local junk yard or put up a wanted note in the parts section or email me your mailing address.

Buying one new will prove shockingly expensive, if you can even find one.

Someone has tried to fix that in the past. That green stuff is not part of the original one. Until you find one you can just cap it off.
