Paging OCD Hardware Nerds: Question About Starter Bolts

Alrighty guys,

I have a question for those of you that are super picky about having hardware correct like I am. The previous owner of my 1985 GS did a clutch replacement, and screwed up all kinds of nuts and bolts in the process. It really annoys me when people don't keep track of hardware and put it back where it goes. So I'm trying to get things back like they belong. However, I'm having some trouble with my rememberer. So I need some help from you guys....

There are three bolts that are located near the starter. (See picture below)

1) The long top starter bolt
2) The short bottom starter bolt
3) The long recessed engine to transmission mounting bolt

Do any of these bolts require flat washers or lock washers? If so, which ones? Or do they all just thread in with no washers required?

I also found a small copper washer on my garage floor, and I think it may go either to the starter, or one of these bolts. Can anyone figure out where the mystery washer goes? I'm stumped. It's really thin. Like it's either a crush washer, or it's for an electrical connection of some kind? Does it even go on the car anywhere, or did the previous owner just put it on there to confuse the heck out of me? Maybe on one of the electrical connection posts on the starter?

Any help or hints would be appreciated. If I have confused anyone, please just ask for clarification. I'll do my best to confuse you even more. Picture of mystery washer and bolt locations below....

Thanks,
Jamie

its been a long time (one of the great things about the 1st gen is not having to get under it much, my brother has a VW and everything is on the bottom, he's always mad and greasy....)

so the engine-trans bolt just goes in, no washer.

the starter bolt does have a lockwasher, i'm cheating now and looking at the parts fische the bolt is 9980-11-032 and the washer is 9997-11-000

the long bolt has nothing, but off the top isn't there a bracket to hold the battery cables?

the mystery washer looks like it might be from the positive cable to the starter solenoid, they show a nut 9990-10-800, lockwasher 9997-10-800, and another washer 9995-20-800.

ok i looked, 9995-20-800 is the same part as the big washer that goes behind a front cover bolt...
