Need Some Help With A Brake Issue
installed new front brake pads and now it feels like the car wont stop.
tought maybe i got air in the brake line somehow so i bleeded my brakes (correctly start from p/s rear and work to the front) but still the brakes feel as if they wont stop. checked to make sure calipers are working. spun each tire by hand and had someone press the brake pedal. all tires stopped while on a lift.
. the brake pedal has pressure and does not fade ( sink to the ground) also checked all brake lines under car and found no leaks ??? so im just
any ideas if maybe im missing something???????
thanks for any help or ideas

what sup doc. na pedal feels normal just feels like when i press it. its not stopping. like if the car is still rolling. one of the guys here at my job said to drive it for a bit slowly. maybe the pads need to wear just a bit. also i wasnt able to resurface the rotors. ( the lathe at my job isnt working) so im thinking of scuffing them up tomorrow.????

Did you clean and lubricate the sliding parts on the calipers? I presume you did a bleed of RR/LR/RF/LF?
Also did you get steady streams of fluid out of each bleed?

Make sure you actually have a good amount of pressure coming through the lines... this happened on an SE I recently purchased and I thought the brake system was blown until a friend let me borrow his power bleeder... you'd be surprised the amount of **** that came out of my lines... went from hardly no brake power to awesome brake power and I had bled them by hand previously...

Might sound obvious, but did you check the master cylinder to make sure it is to the max line with fluid?
Also, whats the purpose of bleeding from the RR/LR/RF/LF?
What happens if you didn't bleed them like that?

You want to bleed the brakes by doing the longest line first, and working your way around to the shortest. This makes sure all air bubbles are out of the system. This also makes sure that ALL of the old crappy fluid is out and the new stuff is in. With the rear brakes, the lines are so long that it is very easy to get a few bubbles in them and not get them worked all the way out.

WOW got some good replies thanks. Yes, I first tried to manually pump and bleed my brakes. then I borrowed a power bleeder from one of my techs here and tried and still no help. I let my car sit over night got in it today and noticed the pedal felt weak. So I went to buy a brake master cylinder. Im gonna install it todaY and see what happens.
Thanks again for everybodys help.
p/s im istalling some rims on my rx7 today ill have some pics up later
