NEED HELP!! smoke. .and squirting. .

hey guys. . .

so i went to go get a thermostat to change replace my old one. . .

and when i replaced it. . .and put everything back together. . .

i turned on the engine. . ..and start gassin. . .

and then smoke starts to come out. . .and liquid (coolan i think) starts to squirt out next to the alternator. . .right where the thermostat is. . i think. . .so ya. .

despereately need you guys' help. . .

what did i do wron?


im totoally new to all of this. . . and hopefully can learn from this esperiecse

oh ya. . .and eh. . .

is there a way to easily take off thea air filter. . .??
(im sure all you guys are laughing now. . . )


cuz screwing off the stud thing was such a bitc. with the filter in the way. .

put a new gasket on. coolant leaked onto the exhaust, causing the smoke.

take off the four snaps, then unscrew the wing nut. there will be a few hoses attached to it, but it should all come off. as long as you remember which goes where.

gasket? im not sure. . .

all i did was unscrew the part where the top radiator hose met with the engine. . .took of the old thermostat. . .and put in the new one . ..

thanks PERFECT CIRCLE. . .what gasket are we talking about???

ok, take a razor and clean the surface where the two parts you unbolted connect, then you need a new gasket for the surfaces.

ya. . .got it. . .

i'll finish it tommorw. . ..

so when i bought yhe thermosat. . .it didnt come with a gasket??
