Need electrical advice

I just got my new windshield washer stuff (pump, bottle, tubing, etc) Checked all my fuses, everythings plugged in. But when I pull the wiper washer switch back, nothing happens, (the wipers wipe, but no fluid). I don't think there is power getting to the pump, what should I check first?

I would check for power using a test light first, then check the ground.

Check and clean your multifunction switch.

yea, unless you've been working up under the dash for some reason its unlikely that the wiring itself has been damaged, it just kinda sits there. The multifunction swith gets lots of use/abuse and could be worn out. Might be a simple cleaning like trochoid said.

The stalk switch may be bad, but why would it allow the wipers to wipe, but not put power through to the pump? Seems like the whole thing would go out not just one piece. Maybe something under the hood isn't connected. I did pull everything out when I repainted and put the new engine in...although now that I think about it, it stopped working before I took it all out...hmmm.

thanks wacky, now would you hand me that beer...good boy.

I checked the wiring diagram. It shows a Blue with yellow, and a Blue with black wires as the connector, which is what I connected it to. So I have the right wire hooked up...just no signal getting there.

I wasn't sure if he was poking fun at you or me. My bet is it's in the multiswitch. Since I don't have a rear wiper, is there a seperate switch on the dash for that and the squirter? Possibly a fuse is out? At this point I'm pulling ideas out of the air, or as some might say, what I'm sitting on.

The rear wiper is on the center console by the window switch and cruise control...not really worried about that one, I can re-wire it easily.

I'm going to take a look at the multi-switch in the morning and see if some electrical component cleaner helps out at all...I'm going to trace the wires back to the switch too, just to make sure there aren't any problems there. All fuses are new.

I think Docs coming down with kory in the SA. He's moving into a new place right now, so everything is disconnected, but he should be back online by monday.

before spending time in the wire looms, I highly recommend checking the windshield washer motor. hook-it up directly to battery (of course with an inline fuse) and a ground wire.

Okay, wiring is fried. Checked it and its all melted together in the engine bay. So I'm just bypassing all of it with a new wire running directly from the switch to the washer motor. simplificationis key.
