need advice

hi new here. in have a friend who i am helping fix his 85 rx7. few small probs,i don't know how long it has been since it was running and there are alot of disconnected wires. the body is in excellent condition and it is a standard. the engine looks to be ok but i just need some info on how to get started on working on it. anybody with info on this would be greatly appreciated.btw it has been on blocks for awhile and he was about to get rid of it FOR FREE !!please help!

Step number one should be a wiring diagram, figure out where those wires go. A Haynes book would help you emmensely as well. Before you start it, change the oil and throw in some Prolong engine additive. Also, depending on how long it has been sitting, it may need some new gas to get it going.

might be close enough. once you get that there, search here. There are several good threads on starting problems.

How long has the car sat up?

You may have to do moe than wiring to get it runing if you have lost compression over time.
