n00b here...

okay, I know I'll probably get flamed for such a basic question but I just picked up a 85 RX7 with the 12a carb'd engine. I have access to a 13bt engine, the car isn't a daily driver for me and doesn't need to be running till next summer, so I'm looking to swap engines. Is there any online documentation or anything detailing the swap?

EXCELLENT way to start out!!! You are to be commended. Just make sure you read up as much as you can. Do all your research. There are a few of us who have done this swap. (like me) who are more than willing to help you out. Just make sure to do some research first!! Many of us have answered the same question many times.

Good luck and have fun!! It's not a hard swap, it just requires some time and attention to detail.

hey, you sound like me! except now i do have a deadline...so dont **** away time. oh yea, read the sticky, and dont expect it to be easy. There is a lot of bitch work to do, and lots of things that should take u an hour, wich end up taking a whole day...or maybe thats just me, either way, have fun, you can pm me questions if u want, but no guarantees ill be able to answer them.
