Question N e one make/have a shift kit in their Auto?

I have a 82' 3 speed... and i dont want to have to find all the stuff for a manual swap, so do you know where i can get a shift kit (to shift around 9000 or so when floored?) or where i can get one made?

Not stock first of all, weber 48 and rotaryshack intake manifold, RB street headers>presilencer> V-force muffler, 30K miles on rebuilt. The sarcasm and insults dont prove helpful, if you're going to be dishign it out at least give me a realistic shift number. Right now it shifts @ 5.5k.

only way/reason you'd ever want to shift at 9000 is if you had a big bridgeport, hardened stationary gears, etc...

7500rpm is about the top end of the power/torque range on a 12A, even with a weber 48, headers, and an intake...

Apex seals begin to chatter at 8400 rpm, you can do damage to the seals and the rotor housings by reving past there.

You might be able to adjust the TV cable (I think thats what its called). Thats what controls when the tranny shifts. It determines how much the throttle is open and adjusts the shift point accordingly. 5500rpm seems low even for an auto. Your TV cable might be out of adjustment as it is now.

BTW, TV cable is the Throttle Valve cable. It goes down to the tranny. It should be the only other cable besides the shift linkage.
