Talking my quest for the racingbeat system...

okay so i purchased a 12a header from racingbeat, i went up and picked it up for $204 in anaheim with tax, then i wrote a post in the Wanted 1st gen section for a RB presilencer and boy did i get a great response! i found a "used" rb presilencer for $120. they are new for like $140 with tax, and i got mine cheap. it was put on the car, but never started or used...

so i had the RB header, the pre-silencer, now all i needed was a RB muffler...
i posted in the Wanted 1st gen section, with no response...
One day I'm sleeping and the phone rings, and it's my friend, and he tells me to check out www.thepartstrader.com because there is a used Power Pulse RB muffler for sale for $75 bucks. I immediately call the guy, his name is Renee. I ask him if he still has it and he says yes, and i say so it's $75, and he tells me i can have it for $50. so i tell him i'll be up there today. (it's in LA). i went to pick it up, i end up in LA off of glendale av. (not the type of neighborhood i'm used to)... kinda run down and such, but anyway i pick it up, and it turns out i'm buying the muffler off of the guy who has the 20B in his RX-2 or 3. i don't remember. anyway, yeah i saw his car at both Rotary Xecret 7 BBQ and Sevenstock 7. The muffler isn't in that great of shape, but nonetheless i purchase it, and have hopes of putting it on my car. so i'm waiting for my friend to get his welding equipment up and running, so i decide to use some CALCIUM LIME RUST (CLR) on it and a scouring pad. it worked wonders, the black stuff from the previous owner was all cleaned off (using much elbow grease) and even the tips shined like new again, but i am putting the tips from my current muffler on the car again. anyway, if i can i'll post pics, but i am VERY excited to have my full RacingBeat exhaust system for a grand total of $374. THAT'S $275 cheaper without tax than buying the system from Racingbeat. I thought I'd share because I am very excited about my new exhaust! Also I ordered the ACV and CV block off plate from RB so i have to wait for that to install it, but still I am stoked!!!

I told ya about it when I was installing ur DLIDFS...but instead of listening, you kept on admiring that RB header.

And no, its not a run down neighborhood..just older. Dont worry, I wont tel my homies. so feel safe when you come up to LA. Also, dont forget about DoLuck. YOU STILL OWE HIM $$$. I think you should have taken care of that before your exhaust.

renz, wackyracer's disappointed for saying how LA is "run-down." that's a diss dude. we LA folks don't live lavishly as much as you SD folks are, and you went wrong by posting this wonderful thread of yours about your new find; almost bragging , which is fine by all means... but not when you owe someone money... and not when you got caught about it.

anyways.. just get me a pontiac fiero e-fan b4 xmas and it's all good

i think wacky's gonna charge u now for the direct fire setup he made for u and the el pollo loco buffet u had @ his casa

hey don't worry guys if ray wants me to write him a check and send it to him for 40 bucks, then i will. i haven't forgot, i just want my exhaust on first. then ill get the e-fan, bring the 40 bucks, and give you a call. if he wants a check, he can PM me with the address. I don't mind at all. i have the money, that's no problem, its just the free time to actually get all this **** done! don't think i'm blowin' you off cuz i'm not. you got my # and if not PM me and i'll get back to u when i can, just to let u know... i've only somewhat disappeared because i don't have much internet access anymore, but yeah you can still get ahold of me...

just an FYI!

p.s. don't take it seriously when i say it was a little run down, its not what i'm used to... plus i'm not even talking about where u guys are, i'm talking about Renee's shop and how it's in the neighborhood I guess I've never been exposed to. damn, don't hate the inexperienced one!

First, you ask me for help. I explained to you that I was out of brackets/DLIDFIS as I gave the last set to Ray (DoLuck). But since you were heading to Racing Beat, I agreed to work on your car PROVIDED that you make arrangement with him, in which you DID NOT. I had to call him on the last minute. Thanks for that.

Secondly, you gave me signs of disrespect for not listening while I was explaining how it works in case a failure later on...that’s including the lead for a primaflow muffler and other things about your car.

Finally, you didn’t tell Ray & I that you did not have $$$ until you were ready to leave. Although it was not cool, I didn’t say anything.

Now, you’re talking **** about the area, I gave you a hint to watch what you say. But you completely ignored it. Just to let you know, I grew up in the area where Rene’s shop is located. At the freeway exit, it’s mostly retail and commercial and some industrial bldgs. What run down houses did you see??

You claimed lack of exposure?? I didn’t say anything to your sorry-*** face when I met ya??

You just lost my respect.

whoa whoa.. let's chill kuya mel. erase the hate, and increase the peace!!

renz.. we have diff. perspectives. it's just that where we came fr., we never take things for granted, and we always appreciate the smallest thing that we're blessed w/. that's all. we work hard to obtain what we need/want. and these types of comments really **** us off. and every time wackyracer help's me out, i never 4get to thank him.

but when it all comes down.. "never judge a book by its cover"

and yes, we're still koo!!

WOW! Open mouth and insert foot! When you go to someones house you respect them not matter what it looks like! Especially if he is going to hook you up. You should have said that "it was in an unfamilure area with charm. The people were friendly and I even got some food I never had before. It opened my eyes!!"
You just lost respect and a good source of info. Watch your back, remember he is from that neighborhood you not use too.

My 2 cents.
No disrespect.
