my motor done

i was letting my car warm up the other night and came back out of the house to see the temp gauge rising so i shut it off before it got to halfway and i heard a garden house sound coming from under my car so i pop the hood thinking it was a hose and to my suprise no water was coming out of the hoses/water pump or rad and i looked under the car and saw water coming out of the motor somewhere near the firewall whats back there that would cause water to come out from so far away from the cooling system.

The heater hoses. Also at the back of the motor in front of the flywheel are your soft plugs.

ill have to take a look at it. i have a feeling it may be a soft plug cause the water was dumping out on the drivers side.

If it is a soft plug it will be coming out between the trans and the motor. The beehive coolant hose runs from the driverside to the passengerside along the firewall.

yea look under your oil filter, if thats the area the coolant is coming from.
very unlikely you blew a freeze plug from a mild over heating unless your cooling system is very corroded. probably just an old hose or loose clamp.

Yeppers, replace all of them. The multi-curved hose is a dealer/ mazdatrix/RB only hose and is pricey. Be very gentle when removing the old hoses from the heater core. The thin brass tubes bend/distort easily and the new hoses will not seal. Don't forget the one that goes to the bottom of the radiator. That one can be replaced with a standard straight heatr hose.

For the hose it should be about $28.00 list from the dealership.

When my hoses cut loose shortly after I bought my car, I had to go cheap. I used straight hoses with a couple of elbow connections. Haven't had any issues, but there are probably reasons not to do this...

Well, yes there are. The more fittings and clamps, the greater risk of one of them failing. As far as flow, there shouldn't be any appreciable difference. I'm a bit suprised you went the cheap route on this one with all of the other good work you have done on your car.

lol. Having just paid for the car a few days before, I was just plain outta cash at the time. Besides, this way allowed me to use a higher quality type of hose and any future replacements will be much easier. But yeah, if I had been able to afford it at the time I would have bought the proper hoses...
