My idea: 12A, streetported, centrifigal supercharger, haltech ek6,

I happened accross the haltech site and had some ideas. With the programability of a haltech. I could pretty much do anything to my engine. Supercharge, turbo. I am thinking of supercharging because of the easier setup. This way, I can do my engine in stages, I just installed a 800$ part racingbeat, part custom exhaust system. I DO NOT want to scrap this system for a turbo. then get the haltech and convert to fuel injection. (similar in price to a carb upgrade, with programability). then do the port, supercharger and tranny over the winter.

What do you think.

you would not have to scrap the entire exhaust to go turbo.. i have the full rb exhaust, and if i go turbo i am just going to scrap the headers.. you get a turbo exhaust manifold and just get a custom downpipe made to go what what ever you have after (in my case the presilencers)...

but either way, sounds like a plan. i think that, on our cars, you will get more out of a turbo than a supercharger, but go to it..

I have the long tube headers, there are two pipes after the headers.

so do i... that makes it all that easier.. you have more room to make your down pipe. just make sure and have it split into two pipes at the end of it

tuning and piping seams like it would be easier. Fitting a turbo onto a 12a seams like a lot of work. Plus it requires more sensors and controllers, which further increases cost.

very true.. the only thing is i think you will get a lot better performance gain from a turbo (due to the size of our engines)

How would this compare to the stock 12a turbo?

I have looked at my supercharger options and I am thinking turbo also now. If I get the 12a turbo manifold, what kind of turbo does it use. Like what is the flange.

well i am 4-port, so i was just going to use a turboII manifold and turbo...
so i donot really know about turbo size for a 12a. my guess is that you could probably hook up a TII turbo, but donot quote me on that

A turbo two maniflod will fit on a 12 A? or are you talking 4 port 13b. Where can I get a 12a turbo maniflod. And I would need some kind of FI intake manifold also. Is the 12a turbo carbed. I might just swap in a Turbo II engine.

sorry, i am talking 13b for the manifold.. i have a 4-port 13b, so it is really similiar to the TII engines.

i donot know that much about the 12aT's, and the picture that i have of one is to dark to tell.. (and it is to large to post)
