My first few mods

Just finished a long evening of work on the Rex. Brand new door seals, new seat covers, new Grant GT steering wheel installed with a new bushing in the steering column, but my favorite is this guy:

I think I outdid myself this time...

I just saw that one the other day in a Movie.
"Armageddon" with Bruce Willis and Ben Affleck. It was in the Driller machine that went to space.

Yep, the SA. I've always wanted a shifter like that but the S2000's is too nice to mess with.

The skull shifter is from back in the street rod days, but it was cool seeing it in Armageddon. I'd forgotten about that.

The skull is actually a cheap $10 Kragen piece. I drilled out the eye sockets for the $2 Radio Shack LEDs, a couple 680 ohm resistors to make it happy with 12 volts, and voila! Instead of using real threads it uses a nylon insert secured by set screws. Crude but functional.

That's a beauty you've got in your avatar 82streetracer, and Kaila Yu's not bad either!

I knew it was an SA as soon as I saw the HVAC controls and how high up the shifter was in relation to it
