Angry My Actuator Dilemma

My 5th and 6th port actuating rods got replaced from a new (used) lower intake manifold. I go to bolt it up and everything is turning smooth, the second i tilt the manifold they bind and cease to move. The manifold is just hanging on the two lower studs, when i simply tilt it forward a freakin 1/16" to make it flush they both just bind hardcore. WHY?????!!!!!!!! This is making me so ******* mad. Do the old bushings from the other manifold need to be swapped over to allow the rods to turn smoothly? Assuming they have worn themselves into place? I spose i could swap in the new (used) manifold, but then i would have to take off the oil injectors and uhhhhhhh what a pain. I am really limited on time, ANY help would be thankful. ~Gavin

I had them in backwards before i put them on the manifold. Left rod needed to be swapped with right. I fixed that before i put it in. When i tighten the top bolts of the manifold they bind and don't rotate. Something is wrong here but i can't f&*%**# figure it out@!

Another alternative, which you may not want to take and doesn't hurt the motor at all, is to just take them out and run without them. Although I am guessing that it would be the same as wiring them open so you would supposedly lose some low end tourqe. Like I said before mine are wired open and I can't tell much difference on the low end, but it does do better on the high end. Just a thought so don't hang me.

Check the location of the clips that prevent them from going in to far, they look like small spacers. You have them in incorrectly. rx7doctor

how do i have them in incorrectly? OMG i do believe i have the clips (locating plate, parts catalog term) below the washer which would give me that extra clearance. It's right freakin there too, i never though of that. AHHHHH if this works THANK YOU rx7doctor.

No they just never worked. When i bought the car they were never hooked up as the backpressure tube was rusted off the cat. I put it all back together and yes it fits dandy now. Now it just won't start. I got it together tonight, i can deal with that part tommorow.
