muffler score

ok...so im spending my summer in a shop where we rice up cars for winnipegs chinese community (the owner is chinese so we have an in) we mainly do muffler installs for them and stuff...

so this kid comes in with his week old subaru WRX which he has made look like an STI, and wants us to insall 3 inch piping all the way back, and put on his new can...so we do it...and at the end his entire WRX exaust is sitting on the ground...the kid doesent want that dirty thing in his car...so i offer him $60 to take it off his hands for him.

it turns out that the WRX muffler fits perfectly on a first gen...(with a little modifications) and will be way less restrictive and handle the heat fine since it is for a 2.5L turbo engine.

sweet score eh?

i have not put it on, but im thinking it will be a bit deeper, and throatyer then the stock sound...more of a growl than a purr...it should be on in a couple of weeks, and I'll know then.

and I did ask him what he was gonna do with it first...and he said he was gonna stick it in his basement...then i offerd him the 60 i had in my pocket (considering its a 300 mufler i think i got a deal)

good score now check this one out last week my wife and i were looking for some tires for her car at the junkyard( she doesnt know how i like junkyards) but they didnt have any tires and i went snooping around and found a 79 7 all too **** and back so i took the oil coler 5 bucks and lines, and kept looking around and when i came to this heeping pile of stacked cars i noticed a olod turbo 280 and went to see if the hood scoop vent was on tact ( it was broke) and right above it was a RHD s14 with a 3 inch tanabe exhaust in it so i took the muffler which i think is steel wool and it has a little rust but its a dual tip that looks like racing beats but i little bigger i think and got that for 10 bucks now thats a sweet score i thought. then my wife new why i loved junkyards when i told her how much everything could have cost.

i was gonna go use that route before i crashed my FB, only using the STi muffler or the STi presilencer.

btw... WRX = 2.0L and STi = 2.5L
