Muffler installation

Muffler installation
About a week ago the stock muffler on my '83 GS broke loose and was torn off my car (ripping up the rear valance on it's way to the side of the road....but that's another story).
I figured this would be a good time to order a R/B PowerPulse muffler. In the meantime I ordered new Bosal gaskets and hangers (the old one were torn in 1/2 when the muffler left the car) from RockAuto.
Both arrived today.
Well I have some questions.... First the studs on the PowerPulse muffler are only 5/8 of an inch long and the sleeves on the Bosal hangers are are a full inch wide!? WTF! how do I make those fit? Second, My OEM muffler had provisions for 4 hangers (2 on the rear most passenger side, 1 on the read drivers side, and 1 toward the front where the pipe goes into the muffler.....the R/B only has 3 - 5/8" mounting studs?
I'm certain I could "rig" something up and make it work, but it was my impression this would be a pretty straight forward swap. I must be missing something (not a stretch if you've read my other posts)
What am I missing....I did an advanced search under "powerpulse muffler installation" and "muffler installation" and didn't seem to find anybody having my problems?

the stock muffler has these little L shaped tabs, one end goes into the hangers, and one bolts onto the muffler

if you wanna know what it looks like there are 2 at the rear, and then it uses the 3rd on the hanger on top of the axle
you could make something pretty easy, you just need a bolt and a maybe 2"x1"x .125 piece of steel...
drill 2 holes in the steel, thread bolt in. use bolt on rubber hangers. the muffler goes in the other hole?
hmm i may do this on mine too

Thanks again j9fd3s,
Looks like this hanger is NLA from Mazda (called a local dealer and an on-line source)... looks like I'll have to fab something up.
Since I have no idea what this hanger looks like could somebody post a couple of pix and some measurements? It would be most appreciated.
