Muffler go BOOM

OK, I started up my car about 30mins ago, revved it up some, and my muffler explodes. One whole side of it is blown out and part of it got on top of the tire so I had to take a hammer and vice grips to it to get it off the tire so I could drive it home. Now, what new muffler should I get? I need it to last a long time and I want it to give it at least a little power.

edit: Does anyone have an Apexi N1 muffler on their car. How does it sound?

Magnaflow can handle the heat and the body is made of aluminized steel so it won't rust. Welds are mild steel and do rust some. Good flow. If you have a 85 stock muffler, cut it off and the Magnaflow should weld right up to that one pipe. You'll need the stock cat or the RB presilencers to keep noise under check.

Who's that girl on your pic?

The girl is Jessica Alba, I had to shrink it a lot to get it to fit. I really was going for the apexi n1. I'm poor right now since I just payed off the last of my car and I can get one for $95 shipped off of ebay including the silencer. My cat's are gutted and I have no clue how loud an n1 would be, if its not too loud then I'll be ordering it in a couple minutes.

if you using the stock piping, is not gonna sound loud. but if you gonna upgrade the hole thing like 2.5" and the n1 you definely have to buy the silencer. i gonna put one on my car when i put the turbo on the car.

well, racing beat would be the most quiet and it would last forever ... but since money is an issue go for a 2.25" dynomax/walker/super turbo (all the same company, i think) - they are aluminized so they don't really rust and they will stand up. you should be able to get one for under 100 dollars. i've never used a magnaflow, but i heard that they're good - i just don't know how much they cost.

yeah ... and i think the chick is HOTTTT also!

Has the least expensive prices for Magnaflow that I have seen.

The Apexi looks great, but I heard its just a tube of thin sheetmetal. Might look great but with those backfires, im sure it'll look more like a explosive cigar in popeye's mouth.

ohh, i guess thats why mines look dull unless its just the tips off N1's.

and theyre(were) pretty loud, stock ports, headers, 2 1/2 inch piping(i think), 2 presilencers in line, "y" pipe to 2 N1s(i think).

im wondering how a 13b bridge port would sound...
