MSD- Merry Christmas!

Hey guys... can we set up our cars with MSD or Mallory ignition systems?

Or do we have to have two seperate coils?

Or do you just pull the signal for two seperate boxes from each of the ignitors?

Thanks guys- Merry Christmas to you and your family!

There are several ignition upgrades described on the FAQ page, including MSD. I just upgraded to DLIDFIS, and it's definately worth the $.

Good stuff, I will try it out. Two of my cars run MSDs and I am happy with it. I have two in my 79 rx and one in my RX-3 wagon.

Sweet I am thinking of doing a MSD but really thought you had to use 2 MSD boxes. I might go with the 1 box set up. Is any one running the one box setup?

To me, it seems that if you want even, consistent power, you'd want to go with the dual-box setup versus the single. With the single box, it has to distribute it's power evenly to both coils. Having two boxes, each coil has its own box, to ensure it gets the power it rightly deserves. Keep in mind, it is very expensive for the dual box setup.

Single box works fine and in my opinion is the way to go! Had this set up for many years and it is highly recommended.

WHOA hold up!!! Do NOT wire both coils up to the MSD box. This would not be a good thing. This would fire both the leading and the trailing both at the same time. The diagram shows two coils, this is for a Dual Leading system. One coil for each Leading Plug.
