Search for yaw and direct fire. Paul Yaw has a great write-up on this but I don't have the link.

Seems like you would need two MSD boxes since there are two ignition system.

Don't quote me on it though.

1 box will do......on the leading ignition.
but two is better than one.

do jeff20b's direct fire (i just call it that-dlidfs;ajf;ajfd is too much to remember). it works the same. i used it before and when I switched to MSD 6A, i didnt notice a difference and its cheaper too.

I have never used the DLIDFIS, but I am currently using Two MSD's. One on Leading, One on Trailing, firing through two MSD Blaster II coils.

My carb is currently running pig rich, and the plugs foul up if idling too long.

With the MSDs, it still starts up right away, and One quick Rev, and they plugs are cleaned out.

Running 17 lbs of boost, THROUGH the distributor, and no break-up whatsoever. The car runs real well with them.

My mechanic buddy who helped me put it togther was amazed at how the car idles and runs OFF boost as well.

The MSD's are big part of it.

I can't wait to put the Haltech back on, and run all Three MSD's!

Hey DF, if you already have the msd on the leading ignition, all you need is another coil and 2 wires to convert to direct fire. Is there a reason you haven't done it?

Yes there is...

1) I don't really know how ... Sux, but true.
2) The setup is only temporary, until the Haltech is re-installed.

Solution:
1) buy another coil, cheap
2) mount the coil somewhere (next to the current leading coil)
3) wire the current leading coils positive to the new coils positive, and the same for the negative
4) run 2 coil to plug wires directly to the plugs from the coils, bypassing your distributer

I can show a picture if you want...if you are interested. You've been talking about the haltech for quite a while now, any idea when you are supposed to get it back? You have a nearly identical setup as my TII as of now except I have a holley 600, you have the 650.

I've got four rotary powered vehicles and each one had DLIDFIS (all 13Bs too hehe). My 20B will get a triple leading ignitor etc etc.

I do have an MSD 6AL that will go on a half or full BP 12A with a 2nd gen leading (DIS style) coil. I've had the MSD for a few years now, but found DLIDFIS to be better. I just need the rev limiter function of the MSD on the bridgey.

Hey DF, if you can get yourself an FC leading coil, you can hook up direct fire extremely quickly and easily. Don't bother with two coils mentioned by others and Paul Yaw, as the CDI output of the MSD is already low amperage (on two coils, it's in parallel and the amps are cut in half, but on a DIS coil, it's not ).

Yeah, what he said. Wire the second coil in parallel to the first one, then take your existing coil to dizzy wire off and throw it in your car for safe keeping. Then, take the leading wires off the dizzy and put one on each coil. Now you have direct fire! This way, when/if you blow a coil or something, you can use the wire you smartly kept in your car to drive home using the stock setup! ...Which I have done when I fired an ignitor on my DLIDFIS I built. It sure was cool to be able to pull that spare wire out of the storage bin, make my car run "stock" again on the side of the road, and drive home with all my plugs sparking .

Hey RotorMotorDriver, that's awesome that you were able to 'limp' home on stock ignition.
