AL Which motors have 17 tension bolts?

I am tearing down a 13 B 4 port for rebuild and it has only 17 tension bolts.

Can anyone tell me which years/series it is from and which housings are compatible with it?

I have searched w/o results and looked in a handful of the FSM files for the photo of the rear of the motor where they give the torque sequence and everything I have found so far has more than 17.

I was planning on using GSL-SE housings but I'm not sure they are compatible.

the info is in the 79-80 parts catalog. i cannot remember which way they went, but for the 1980 model year they deleted the 18th tension bolt (or maybe they added, pretty sure they deleted though, but look it up).

so the irons are different, as they are lacking the bolt hole, but nothing else changed.

Thanks,

Now I just have to determine which housings will work with'em.

I am wondering if you can use 18 hole housings with 17 hole irons, ummmm.

I found it, you are right, they deleted the 18th bolt in the '80.

thanks for the help!

After looking at it there is no reason, the extra bolt holes just turn into coolant passages!
