well...you could paint some flames on it, I'm sure that'll give you an extra 500 hp.

But seriously, what kind of money do you want to put into it? You could keep it NA and just do a street port, or you could go turbo. What Model do you have? Are you looking for some miracle leaps in hp? There are many mods you could do. I'm afraid they don't sell a miracle liquid that you pour into your gas tank that gives you a boost of power, but if your a little more specific on what your desires are with your car I'm sure you'll get a lot more responses.

Oh and big thing, USE the search button up in the corner.

I know, I'm feeling a little grumpy. But seriously, this thread comes up more than probably any other, and is addressed quite well in the FAQ.

Going fast in a straight line is lame, especially on public roads. Why not build the best handling car you can afford? The 100HP on tight curvy roads is more than enough, it's more fun to see how far you can push the car into turns than just going slow through a turn and using extra power to speed back up again.

Remember that whatever you do has to conform to California emissions and noise laws. As far as I know (I'm no expert on CA laws), that essentially limits you to a better air filter and ignition upgrades, and maybe a quiet main muffler like Racing Beat's. You might be able to get away with a bit more, but either way you're very limited as far as power mods.

My FB is more than 25 years old, so I'm exempt from all that BS even though I'm in an emissions-controlled county. I could run a peripheral-port on the street as long as I could get it quiet enough that cops wouldn't care. (Technically you still have to have all stock emissions equipment in place, but you don't have to pass any inspections, so who cares.) Basically I get to do whatever I want.

it's not too bad in centralia, not sure about the rest of the state. i would imagine it's a little more costly in seattle.

Colorado has no inspections at all except Denver. I love it.

Go to www.re-speed.com, www.mazdatrix.com or www.racingbeat.com for alot of suspension options, along with some go fast bits. DO NOT forget brakes and tires. I believe these to be the 2 most important things to mod, for obvious safety reasons. First thing first though, to go fast, your car has to be in good running order. If something isn't up to par and you plan to upgrade it anyway, now is the best time to do it, instead of doing the job twice. Good luck.

i agree with percent..the only thing you have to not do is **** off the cops..if you do get pulled over...just hope that they don't look under the car..its a big fine for having no cat...which reminds me..i can't wait to put my presilencer, header back on...getting my powerpulse on friday..exhaust was to loud with them on with a hole in the stock muffler..
