More carb / idle fun *SOLVED*

See video attached

So I had my carb off as I was going to replace the water o-rings but ran out of time so threw the carb back on. I then adjusted the idle and mixture screws when the car was warmed up so it would idle around 800rpm, adjusting the mixture down till it stumbled then back up a bit whilst adjusting the idle screw. Thought it was dialed.

I went to start the car and had to adjust both screws to get it to idle, now when I give it a bit of gas it dies...argh.

Also when I took the carb off some of the wiring broke so I had to mend it. Guessing it's idle and mixture screw but now cannot get it to live when giving it gas.

I have also checked that it is getting fuel.

Maybe it's something else also? Suggestions please

Accelerator pump. Look down the barrels of the carb, then have someone pump the accelerator. There should be little squirts of fuel each pump. If no squirt, replace accelerator pump diaphragm.

Pumping accelerator should cause a squirt of fuel here.

Thanks for the insight! I managed to get an AP locally so pulled off the carb, pulled off the old AP and the new one was wrong haha....good ole AutoZone.

So the AP I pulled out looked good so I list cleaned up the surfaces, put everything back together, and Boom! Problem fixed!

Unsure how, why, or what for but for now it is good. Hopefully in the morning it still decides to cooperate as I drive this to work once a week.

the squirt of fuel will be in the top 2 barrels in that pic. the squirter is between the two with that big + sign screw. each press of the pedal, fuel should squirt from it.

Same here. When my carb suddenly stopped flooding I was not sure which of the multiple things I had done had fixed it. Just bolted it down and vowed to NEVER take it off again just in case I undid the fix.
