More Carb Help
With the breather top off and while looking down the barrles, how many are supposed tobe shooting fuel in? Im assuming 2 right? the 2 small ones? because only 1 of mine is pumping fuel.
I also wanted to ask about the mod that opens all 4 barrels. I have done the mod but it only opens them less then 1/4 inch. I mean its a verry small amount. even if I rev it up to 6k for a few seconds same amount. Should I try and pull the zip tie tighter? or could something be wrong here?
Now the last question, Is it ok for me to have a 5-9psi fuel pump running but have the regulator at 3.5? will this hurt anything?
Thx for the help. after all this ill be a master of the carb =/.

If you quickly open the throttle, fuel should squirt out of both of the little tubes. This comes from the accellorator pump. If only one is working, then you have a clog.
When doing the mechanical secondaries mod, you need to adjust it so that at wide open throttle the butterflies are fully open. A zip tie might have too much of a springiness for this purpose. I used a small length of mechanic's wire and it worked great. Another option would be a paperclip or something similar.
Fuel pressure reduction should not be an issue, but 3.5 might still be too much.
And one last thing. How many threads have you started on this issue now? It would be better to stick with one thread, so that all of your information is in one place, rather than scattered all over. Now, if I want to remember what you've already done and what I've already suggested, I either have to ask you or search through a bunch of old threads. Something to keep in mind....

Ok, I have taken off the carb rebuilt it. Tryed to tune it but it still sputters when i give it some gas. I tryed adjusting the AP but no matter how much i move it in our out it sputters. Could this be a vac leak, with the air breather off you can hear it gulp air down then the other barrel starts shooting fuel. thats around 2500 rpms.
also if im stoped and i pump the brakes the car idles down sometimes alot sometimes just a little.
also im turbo preping my carb, ill be driving the car for about 2 1/2 weeks till i get the turbo installed. what can i ditch? are stock nikkis equiped with vac 2nd? if so how can i take off that shyt? I already did the 2nd mod.

Hey make sure you dont have a leaky intake manifold gasket, just an idea. Spray some carb cleaner around your carb and intake to see if you have a leak.
You can get rid of the rats nest if you dont have to pass inspection, many threads about this, takes about two hours and a little patience. The secondary vaccum pod can be removed, its the one on the far right when looking from the driver side of the car. Just a few bolts and remove any attatchments to the pump near the bottom.
