Well they are hard to find. But I have used one on my '81 for years now, if you want fuel efficiancy, eh, no...... Basically the normal drawbacks of having a sidedraft, I am not aware of any downdraft style Mikunis. I love it I have actually heard alot to say they are better than Dellortos. I cant say I have ever had any trouble with it, pn the one I have I can use my choke and my OMP lines with it. Although I have the choke disconnected, never really need it with this carb, even in the cold.

heck yea I hate it!

There is nothing wrong with it, if you have a stock port engine, it doesnt need to be rebuilt, or any thing, its ready to go. I JUST DONT LIKE IT!!! Thats my opinion though, I mean tons of other people have them and love them, I am just not one of them.

I will sell it for 410 if any one wants it ive got 500+ in it. I am going to go with a sterling carb.

Now back on subject:

I have never used a Mikuni carb on a rotary, but I use them on both my kawaski jet skis, I love them, they are great little carbs! If I had to base my judgement of a mikuni off those carbs it would be a 9 out of 10!

I like them, have one on the bp. Still need to do some tuning on it after I get a full 3" exhaust done. Not a lot of info out there on them, only found one tuning maual for them. Jets are not cheap if you have to buy a bunch for tuning, otherwise they are a great carb. Pulled 23 mpg highway coming back from Denver after Christmas, it's also easy to get 8.5 mpg around town.
