Miata seats fit?

Has anyone installed Miata seats into a 1st gen? I'm looking for some seats and was wondering if these would fit. I know 2nd gen RX-7 seats fit and I'm hunting these also. Anything else fit in there and still bolt up?

They do fit but not directly ot the factory mounts for the rx. I have a pair of Miata seats in mine, I only had to make some small extentions for the seat rails to fit. Very nice and comfortable, one of the best up grades i have done yet.

I gave $50.00 for mine from a guy at work that put some high dollar seats in his Miata. I mounted mine with the out side seat rail in the normal spot on the seat, I can't remember but I think I had to drill one hole to make them mount up good, then I made small extentions for the inner side rail as the rx seats are just a little wider. I think the overall extention was just at 1 inch. The inner mount also needs to be in a different plane then that of the outer rail so you will need to bend the extentions just a little to get the seat to sit level. This whole process took less than a hour and is much harder to describe than to do. I have some pics but will have to wait to try to post them.

Perfect There's a place fairly close to me that sells Miata seats on ebay. I'll plan on making some bids. I can save shipping costs by picking them up

rxcorv8, where did you get those seats, and how much is a reasonable price to ask for them?

$50.00, I got them from a friend at work. Probably the best place is from someone that just doesnt want them, but I would think some salvage yards are o.k., you just have to find the right one... ive been to a few that would take $50.00 for a pair of good seats.

You should be able to pick some up pretty cheap... Miata seats are very comfortable, and have headrest speakers if you want to take the time to hook them up.
