Metering oil pump connecting rod...
I just put the throttle body back together on my seven, but the metering oil pump connecting rod doesn't seem to have any freedom of movement when I connect it, and it impedes movement of the throttle shaft.
help?

I am an idiot. Someone hit me hard.
I just went out to take a look and realized that the carb connector swings around so that the connecting rod fits just fine. So much for a broken car!
Thanks Rx7Carl, you solved my problem!

You're not going to like this post, carl.
I put the rod on the night I posted about it and the next day started up the car. (thanks to JIMMY54 it ran welll with no problems)
But whe I started it up it revved up to 4000 because the connecting rod was holding the throttle open. I have pics that I will post.
I just need confirmation on how to put this thing on.

OK I can either hook up the rod to the carb
connector on the right side and have it make the throttle stick, or on the right side (in the pic) and block free movment of the carb connector.

What a funny lookin engine. Sorry I didnt realize you had an SE, my bad. Well it definately isint good if it can catch and hang up the throttle. But Im not familiar with the SE enough to tell you exactly how it should go.

Yeah I was wondering if you knew I have a 13b. You said something about the carb connector and I thought...wait a minute.... but I figured maybe that's what they call it. Anyway, this damn hurricane should be passed through by the weekend so I won't be able to look at my car till then.
help from anyone else would be appreciated.

Help?
Ok I know there are many knowledgable people on this forum....
Can someone tell me what the Metering Oili Pump Connecting Rod is attached to/what is does on my SE?
It is not fitting on and that is not a good thing. The Haynes manual does not provide much info on the purpose of this part.

I would check on my car but its not with me at the moment....
The oil metering pump is a pump that supplies oil to the rotors basically..It gets mixed with the fuel going in to Lubricate inside the housing. Its connected to somthing on the bottom left side of the front cover of the engine.
Could it be possible that you have it facing the wrong way? Not 100% sure but if i remeber correctly, the tip was facing the other direction -> Does that even work like that?
To hold the throttle, was the arm Jammed somewhere? It could be kinda seized on the actual pump (on the front cover, Follow the arm down) and not allowing it to move freely?
Hope it somewhat helps

Something's definitely not right, as the little swivel the rod connects to should be coming all the way back and hitting the adjustable stop you can see in the 1st pic.
It's not a very complex system: the rod moves down as the throttles open and that moves a little lever at the OMP end. I can't remember exactly, b/c it's been a while since I messed with mine, are there multiple holes for connecting the OMP end? I seem to recall that being the case.
