Thumbs up Mercury Mariner 2.5 V6 Oil reservoir

I bought this on ebay for $26 (list is ~$70) last week and it arrived on tuesday. It looks like it will fit nicely on the passenger side strut tower after fabricating some mounting brackets. It even comes with a low level sensor! I'm not sure what the capacity of it is but I think it could possibly take 1 quart. If anyone wants to find one, the part number is 833069T9.
All I need now is to either modify my MOP to take 2cycle or purchase one from RA... does anybody know if they still make the adapter for the 12a? I looked on their site the other day and they didn't have the price for the 12a listed.
Cheers!
Justin

they make the 12a one. i bought one a few months ago. just email them. my problem i encountered is the nipple on my resovoire is much bigger than the one on the RA adapter. i think my resovoirs nipple is around 10mm while the adapter is 1/8". i need to go see if i can find a reducer for the line cause i cant find a nipple that fits the weird thread the makers of the resovoir used.

what size is the nipple on this? i see the feed nipple on the bottom of the resovoir. whats the hose with all the other nipples for?

Hades, I was just browsing ebaymotors for catch cans and decided to type in oil reservoir and this popped up.

aws, I'm not sure what size it is, don't have my caliper handy... it looks to be about the same size as the fuel inlet on the carb, maybe a touch smaller. I'm not sure what the other line/nipples are for, but I'll probably end up putting a small air filter on the end of it to take in air as the oil leaves.

BTW the $26 was shipping included Heres the link to the auction if anybody is bored: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...8397&rd=1&rd=1

From the looks of it my guess would be that those other hoses probably connected into the air intake or something so filtered air would replace the oil as it empties like you said you planned to do.

Looks like its gonna work great for our purposes! The low level light would be nice too! You would wire it into the stock oil light so that it has a factory look when it illuminates. Ill have to keep this one in mind!
