Anyone successfully rebuild the manual steering gear for this car? I know this is probably in here somewhere, but figured this would be faster. I know there is a kit for the seals, but isn't there ball bearings etc in this car that can be renewed.

There may be a kit for an FB, but I had no luck finding one for an SA. There is a replacement for the seal on the bottom of the sector shaft that is still available, but (at least on the SA) there is no replacement for the gasket on the steering shaft (tho one closest to the fire wall), and I could not find any replacements for the ball bearings either. There are adjustments you can make to the settings on the sector shaft, maybe start there, but as t_g_farrell said, Mr. Driver has somehow rebuilt his.

they have a ring and pinion set on some sites for a reasinoble price only reason I haven't done it is because I just cant give up my ac my sterring box has some play I was told no matter how much u adjust it the fbs all have play
