Removing Air/ conditioning/power streering.

I was wondering if any one has ever just taken these off the enigine all together. I was looking over the manual and don't really see why you couldn't just take it off if you have the engne out. Does anyone know of the gains you could expect to see? I imagine the loss of the heat alone would be worth it. So anybody done it? How bad is the steering with out the assist?

I heard that the steering isn't that bad, a little hard to turn at low speeds and obviously at stop. As far as the power. It just frees some of it up.

You could see around 10 hp to the wheels with all the stuff removed, and the right pulley.
Its not all that hard to turn, and I have 235/45's in the front. Parking can be a bitch, but chicks dig big forearms!!!
It cleans the engine bay up, real nice. Not to mention you will lose a good 100+ lbs. from all the crap.
If you do this, I suggest you get the Unorthodox Racing R Pulley, its for people that removed all the crap, and airpump.
It drives only the alt, and waterpump.
Unorthodox is going to stop making the pulley, but you can still get it from them.

I don't miss the power steering at all, but I do miss the AC. A black car with a black interior and black leather seats gets a little warm in the sun. KDR is hooking my AC back up for me, I think he has a bracket to put in place of the PS pump

Anyone know of a belt # that will fit with just the PS in place? I have already removed the condensor and lines, but I still want my PS.

My brother pulled the A/C out. He had the air box, intercooler and battery out while changing to a racing radiatior. It looked simple to me. Saves weight and frees up the space in front of the radiator. As for getting it back on, never going to happen, at least not on his car. I can't bring myself to give up my A/C.

I am asking the same question!!!

I will probably take the the AC out from my FD very soon, which belt could I use to replace the existing one... I only want a belt between the drive pulley and the PS pulley...? Any references you could give me?

Thanks.

http://www.banzai-racing.com/

click on 'products,' then the picture of the belt. You'll want number 4 or 5.
