Main Pulley Removal

I have a 12A I'm trying to rebuild but I can't get the main pulley off. Traditionally you would take the center bolt out and use a puller to remove the pulley but I've broken 2 ratchets now trying to get the center bolt out. What is going wrong?

They have lock tight. Use some heat. It also helps the keep the flywheel on and brace it.

If you're using hand tools at least 1/2" end breaker bar / big ratchet is needed to break it loose. 3/4" if it's stuck.

Yep, that bolt is harder to undo than the flywheel nut. Even a 600 lb impact sometimes will not work. Use a 19mm impact socket and a long pipe over a large breaker bar, 1/2 recommended.

Definitely not.

How much leverage are you giving it?
I've had to put a 3 foot pipe over my breaker bar before.

I once broke a four ( or was it five?) foot long breaker bar trying to loosen one of these.

Big Impact Wrench for the win.
