Oil leak IN main pully, Main pully removal

Its time for me to address this issue, there is a small puddle of oil in my main pully. ive searched and all i could really find was 1 thread,

in that thread it was stated that if its leaking from the main pully bolt, it you could simply put gasket maker on it and it would stop.

ive looked through the FSM, ive noticed 2 oil seals there, 1 on the actual bolt? and 1 main front seal, and from what i gather, if its leaking BEHIND the pully, its the main front seal, if its IN the pully then its the o-ring on the main bolt,

I also looked at the FSM it says something about jamming the flywheel?? through the inspection hole in the transmission?? so something doesnt slip out of line when you remove the pully?? I dont really understand what its trying to tell me to do there. If anyone has replaced this pully before, your insight would be greatly appreciated.

So what im wanting to know is, What am i supposed to be "jamming", in which direction, and if this leak can simply be ghetto fixed and wont cause a problem in the near future, and if everything ive learned is correct.

Thanks

also i read this and the FSM, the FSM was really hazy on what needed to be done

http://mazdatrix.com/faq/pulley.htm

So what will happen if i have a piece of wood in there, and i have my breaker bar on and crank the motor a click to knock the bolt loose? wont it just destroy the piece of wood in there?

you can't really jam the thrust washers on an FD like you can on an FC, what you can do to help aid in the thrust washer issue is prop the clutch so that it puts forward pressure on the eccentric shaft during disassembly. the only thing you can do besides this is take the front shaft bolt off slowly once you break it loose and pull the hub out nice and easy and hope the oil suction doesn't pull the stack out with it.

the easiest way to remove the front bolt is put the transmission in 4th gear, let the clutch out and zap it loose with a 1/2" impact gun with good air pressure from your compressor tank. once it is just coming loose jam the clutch in and take it all the way out.

the focus points you need to look at are the front main seal in the front cover, if its leaking the front cover will be oil just under the seal, if there is oil inside the outer edge of the front pulleys then your eccentric shaft hub bolt is leaking at the surface, it needs to be sealed with gasket maker or silicone at the base where it meets the hub just outside the threads. use a very small amount of threadlocker on the bolt and replace the inner o-ring seal and reassemble it all.

during reassembly run the front bolt in without a ratch, just run it in with your fingers and socket until it is snug then tighten it loosely with the ratchet, lastly run it up with the impact gun, not going overboard when tightening it down, it should only be about as tight as your wheel lugs at 80-100ft/lbs of torque or it will be stuck in there when you take it apart next time.

edit: nevermind the clutch prop i mentioned, i had an FC in mind when i said that. the FD is a pull type clutch and will surely do more harm than good using the clutch while being disassembled.
