They are backlit in RED. They are a gauge replacement and not just stickers. Basically look like your example. I don't have pics of them lit but I can get pics if anyone needs to see them..

Then the work on them is AWESOME, cause you cant really see the transition between the numbers and the face. Nice!

Here is a pic from my cell phone..It came out blurry and with a double image.. BUT my digital camara keeps the flash on so it doesn't come out right.
I know the quality sucks but hopefully it gives some kind of idea what it looks like. AND yes... I need to change a bulb in the Tach area.. just don't want to take the dash apart right now..

looks good. any one know if a 79 dash is back lite i heard yes and no.

lwnslw, if you do decide to take the dash out, may I suggest replacing them with LED bulbs instead? Did that on mine and needless to say, it's a **** ton better. Also did the turn signals. The insta-on, insta-off thing reminds me of a newer BMW. Make sure to get a bright bulb though. This dash obviously wasn't designed for LEDs.
