1979-1980 12a

if i had a 1979-1980 12'a engine i rebuilt. could i drop that in an 85 body with the 85 CAS? were just talking block no carb or emission stuff

Never heard of the 85 CAS, those are from 2nd gens up. Yes you could. You would not have an oil pressure readout though.

sorry iam stuck in fc phase. (distributor) why would i ditch the oil pressure reading? the oil pressure sensor goes through the distributor? i would be using a 85 distributor on a 79-80 block

the 79-80 block doesnt have a spot for the oil pressure sender that the 81+ cars do.

also the air injection is different on the pre 81 motors, so it will not pass smog
