Jeezus, don't worry about making it 300dpi, just scan it with the default settings.

There you go!

Does anyone know if the 84-85 speedo gauge fits the 83 speedo? I don't want to have to disassemble my good cluster..

Alright, here is the basic marks. As you can see, I just used the stock mark sizes just to keep this nice and simple. This is a teaser more or less.

Riddle me this: What are *all* of the different variations of dash gauges with years to match? ('84-'85 standard, '83 85mph, '83 130mph, the one with the volts on the tach, etc.) I'd like to design every set with the same style.

-xlr8planet-, I'd buy some from you but I can't really afford to buy anything right now. I will definitely get some when I get out of this bind.

Viking War Hammer, xlr is your guy for that.

If you do the vector work on the rest of the gauges (theres like 4 different ones, 78/80; 81/82; 83; 84/85), I will only charge you shipping.

how that sounds?

-xlr8planet-, sold. :P

On the vector work, does that include the font placement and such?

If I can get scans of all of them, I'll be more than happy to. So far I have the 84-85 and the 85 mph gauges.

You know, this was a really good idea, I'm still in love with the whole Autometer look but there was one major snafu; do NOT Superglue your speedometer cable to the cluster and if you do, do NOT try to remove it. The metal thing that holds the cable to the cluster is there without the cable inside. Just a fair warning to everyone that ever takes their cluster out.

Talking

I had gauges made by Scott Hrbacek from www.customgaugefaces.com
He has most model 1st Gen gauges available and they are made to order in whatever color combo you ask. They are reasonably priced, shipped quick and if you search the forum there is a thread with several pictures of various year 1st gen gauges posted. Just another alternative..

BTW...
I ordered Silver with Black numbers and a Red Rotor. I matched my cars paint scheme....LOL ... look at my steering wheel.... same color combo..LOL

Those look really clean. Good combo.

I'm still trying to find the site where you could design them yourself via Macromedia Flash. I think the site was posted somewhere on here.

lwnslw: those look nice, but they dont look like they have backlight. Kinda looks like a decal over the existing dash

esmith972 are you still interested in us making these?

I made this quick trial

As you can see, its flat black vynil, over a plastic product made for backlight
(the second pic is the gauge against the TV)

Yeah man, I'd love to, I just need the scans so I can Photoshop them. I've got the '83 done, I've just been waiting for some more. :P

They are backlit in RED. They are a gauge replacement and not just stickers. Basically look like your example. I don't have pics of them lit but I can get pics if anyone needs to see them..
