Why? Did you break something?

I run without the OMP and run premix. (I've been doing it for about a year now.)
I just opened up the OMP and took out the internals; then placed the original plate back on and finally connected a hose to the two nipples.

Well this all started as a water pump replacement...When I was putting my alternator back on i found that the bolt that goes into the water pump that holds the tensioner bracket for the alternator wont go back in...its like the the water pump face and the "body" dont line up by like 1/16 of an inch.....Just enough to **** me off...im thinking of just carfully drilling into it to knock off that 1/16th.....The reason I asked about the MOP is cause when I was putting the alternator back on I some how snapped one of the lines...I was told I COULD NOT run w/out it or I would blow my motor....I guess it dosent matter for now cause I damn sure cant run w/ out an alternator.....Any Suggestions??????

It is correct you should never run your engine without some sort of oil in there to lube stuff up. You can loose the OMP and just run premix in the gas. So if you want, just disable your OMP and run premix in the tank every fill up and youll be fine . Plus youll know that theres ALWAYS oil in there and youre not relying on some old thing that may not be pumping right anymore cause of a blown seal or something.
