Lug pattern
Okay... it's too late for me to go out and measure my lug pattern. What is the lug diameter for an '85 GS?

Lug pattern is 4x110mm. Before you ask, the SE and second gen rims don't fit. Also, before you ask, the "only" other car that "ever" used that pattern was a Hyundai Stellar.

Like I said... sorry for posting this. I was trying to stop it so I could search before I posted. I'll eventually swap in the GSL-SE suspension and **** so I can have 4x114.3. Still can't find the style of rims I want in 4x114.3 pattern. Damn tiny wheels.

'81-90 Escorts (Ford built) are all 4x4.25in. AKA 4x108mm. Just like Ford has been using since forever on their compactish cars, although the offset is different than on their RWDs. (So no putting those Escort/Tempo wheels on your '72 Capri!

'91-present Escorts and ZX2s are all 4x100mm. Wheels are same hub bore and offset as the Miata, dunno about others. (Miata 14" steelies fit the Escort 10" brakes like they were made for them. Cars that had 13" wheels, which were only made up to 95-96ish, had 9" rotors to clear the inside of the wheels. How does it feel to know that base model Escorts had the same size front brakes as a T2? )

well my capri runs a 4x114.3 but its hard to find nice after markets for small 4 lug patterns any more everybodies going to 5 lug tri this site http://www.wheelmax.com/index.html

I am STILL a mechanic, and lately I've been working in the engine shop where I am surrounded by more cool hardware and machinery than I can count. Holy crap is it cool! Tons of Buick turbo six stuff, plenty of BBC stuff from the 60's, and lots more. And the machinery... 
(Oh and don't forget the stuff from 427 Fords... )
Jeez you guys, look at the picture closely... there are nine one digit numbers and a second set of numbers in the middle... *obviously* a SA tachometer.
As far as bolt patterns go, I wasn't counting the truly weirdball setups like the front drive Mercuri Capri, which was a 323/old Tracer chassis, shorter wheelbase i think, and it had those awful captivated front rotors and weirdball lug pattern (might have been either 4x4.25 or 4x4.5, if'n it's not metric then I won't try to write it in mm like 108 or 114.3, it's 4.25 or 4.5 dammit! Next you'll be tryin to tell me about those 7.62mm and 5.59mm cartridges ) Anyway I am glad that Ford elected to forgo all that crap for the '91-up Escort. I am fairly sure that the Escort knuckles, front and rear, will go onto a 323/old Tracer/Capri, and you can get rear discs from a Escort GT if you're a masochist.
BACK TO THE RX-7s... I was thinking about it the other night, and I am fairly sure that the early-mid 80's Escort/EXP had an optional wheel that looked remarkably like the FB's "cross" wheel. I doubt that FB wheels would go onto one of those cars, not just for the bolt circle (which might be fudgeable but I don't wanna see it on roads i drive on) but also because the offset would be so different.
