Question lucas oil

i was reading a page here that mentioned lucas oils. at my auto parts store, there is a display with crankable gears showing how the oil flows nicely in the gear teeth. just wondering if anyone used this oil in their trans and how they liked it.

i see that they produce synthetic gear lubes and i'm just thinking about how the lucas oil could be different from another synthetic gear oil.

I would ALSO like to know what a good brand of TRANMISSION fluid would be.

I am Replacing all fluids in my RX-7 and would like a good Rundown on all types...

Transmission
Brake
Radiator

any and all would be MUCH appreciated.

I use Lucas in my trans and engine! Runs smooth. and brings my oil pressure up a few psi about 5. I use about 20% Lucas.

huh. so you use it as an additive to your engine oil? i had originally thought that it was just an additive, but they also sell straight gear lube too.

crazy roller,

i use peak antifreeze. the stuff is cheap and i can get it in bulk at sam's club. it seems to be doing the job and it runs 1/4 way across the gauge. i had some ford dot-3 brake fluid, so that is what i used in the rx-7. that too works great. transmission uses amsoil synthetic and engine uses amsoil synthetic. works great.

Stay away from DOT3, use DOT4! DOT3 attracts water and DOT4 does NOT attract water.

I used Lucas in my old Maxima. It was making some valve and or lifter noise when cold and the oil pressure was a little low. Worked perfect, great stuff. Never thought of using in my 7 though. Guess that is why I check out the forum/

I use about %10 Lucas Oil Stabilizer when I do oil changes, plus I toss in a bottle of MMO.

I also use Lucas Fuel System Cleaner at least ever 3rd or 4th fillup, and my engine is happy as hell
