Talking Lsd = fun

Well on a update from my blown rear end, I scored a low milage (only 65,000 on the car!) 83 GSL rear end (for 80 bucks w/ a drive shaft!) at one of the pick-a-parts in ventura few days ago and I got it all in my 79 today.

After a bit of problems with the brake line fitting (I had a slight problem with re-flaring the rear line) I got the brakes bled and took off. Man the rear end is much smoother and quieter.

The brakes on the rex are just amazing I can't believe mazda even offered the car with drums. 4 wheel discs on this car just puts the old setup to shame.

Oh yeah the car hooks up now, I no longer spin forever..

Yea Haaaa---

you had problems with the break lines fitting because they have a different thread pitch..the 79/80 had a different pitch than the 81-85. figured someone would have told you that before you did the swap.

hope they donot leak on you..

did you swap the master cylinder? Everything I've read/heard says you should.

RiffRaff- Yes I know the fittings are different, hence I said I had problems re-flaring the rear line. I got the proper brake fitting off the 83 brake line, threaded in perfectly.

SoRRow- Of course!

82transam - No need to the stock master cylinder has more then enough volume to fill four calipers, now if I did a 4 piston setup up front then I would. I've done disc brake swaps on bugs before and never had to swap the master cyl. on those either.

The car stops on a dime now.

laters -

I converted my front end to a FB front end after I got into an accident.
I got the fenders, bumper, bumper shocks, etc... It all bolts right up to all the SA mounting holes minus the lower fender supports which the SA's don't have, but doesn't pose a problem.

It will do that from a 30-40mph roll if I want it to also Really need some better tires.
The car has a 2.3turbo piston motor in it. (flame suit is on) All junkyard parts and putting down around 250hp at the wheels. About $600 total investment.
If I could do a rotory turbo that would make that much hp and be stone reliable up to around 400hp at the wheels for the same amount I would. But I am poor. Most expensive part on the car is the wing I bought from Mike P

PS...Mike...when we going to run them
