Low PSI, still starts easily. Supercharged.

I'm looking at a Camden Supercharged FB. It has low PSI: 68-75ish PSI when cold and 60-65ish PSI when warm. But it still starts VERY easily, Is that just the supercharger making up for the low PSI? -Also, owner claims unable to make it idle lower than 1,100rpm, says its been premixed at 2oz per gal. Does not smoke while running...(other than initial warm-up)

The supercharger would not have an effect on the PSI. No way to know if the smoke is from the premix or bad oil rings without being able to measure oil consumption.

Are you using a rotary compression tester?

Just a normal PSI tester with PSI release button, held-down. I recorded the gauge face in "slo-mo", to catch the needle movement clearly, worked very well. Also, doesn't smoke while driving...

The low PSI would concern me if I expected the engine to last a few years. It may not be a big deal depending on how often you plan on driving it. If the price tag is right, low compression may not be important.

That is extremely good compression.

My 13B that tested in the 90s-100s on a Mazda tester would test at 40psi with a regular gauge.

I have had good running engines test at 25psi with a regular gauge.
